CASI CHILI COOK-OFF Rules

1. An entry may consist of one “head cook” and other assistant cooks as desired. (1) companion pass will be furnished to each “head cook” for Saturday August 29, 2009.
2. The “head cook” is responsible for the conduct of the participants and guests in his/her area and also for keeping the area neat and clean. EXCESSIVE USE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL BE GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION.
   
3. No open or wood fires – no holes or dug pits will be permitted.
   
4. Entrants must supply all needed equipment and supplies. NTSF provides space only. Electricity available at added cost.
   
5. Entrants may arrive Saturday August 28, 2010 – Hook up fees are $20.00
   
6. All Chili must be cooked at the site the day of the cook-off from scratch. “Scratch” being defined as starting with raw meat. Regular commercial chili powder is permissible, but complete commercial chili mixes are not permitted. All chili must be prepared out in the open. No cooking inside motor homes, etc. No beans, macaroni, rice, or other similar items will be accepted.
   
7. All CASI rules in force the date of the cook-off will be strictly adhered points to Terlingua awarded accordingly.
   
8. Any altered cup may be disqualified. Each “head cook” is responsible for cooking one pot of chili and turning in one judging cup from that pot. The “head cook” must prepare the chili that he/she intends to be judged. No more than one judging sample may be taken from any one pot. Cooks are required to cook chili in as sanitary manner as possible. The above conditions are subject to inspection by the judging committee, superintendents, and/or any member of CASI’s regional or area refereed. Failure to comply subject to disqualification. Anyone disqualified will be immediately notified.
   
9. To adhere with CASI rules, no cash prizes will be given.
   
10. The top (10) places will be awarded for chili and top (3) places for chili showmanship
