GENERAL RULES
Entry Rules: Entry Deadline: August 1, 2010
Late Entries: Will be accepted on Show Day. $5.00 Late fee per exhibitor on entries received after entry deadline date of August 1, 2010.
Fees: All fees must accompany the entry card. NO ENTRY FEES WILL BE REFUNDED
Jr. Heifers/Steers
- Ring A & Ring C: $15.00
- Ring B & Ring D: $30.00
(Jr. Heifers & Steers – Must Show in Ring A to Show in Ring B & Must Show in Ring C to Show in Ring D)
Miniature Hereford
- Ring A & Ring C: $15.00
- Ring B & Ring D: $30.00
(Miniature Hereford Steers – Must Show in Ring A to Show in Ring B & Must Show in Ring C to Show in Ring D)
- Steers must be registered in the exhibitor's name with the American Hereford Association. Absolutely no crossbreds-Only purebreds. If papers are pending, you must have a letter from the American Hereford Association so stating.
- Exhibitors six (6) and under must be accompanied be an adult into the show ring. Exhibitors seven (7) or older may have optional assistance.
Jr. Swine
- Ring A: $10.00

Exhibitors Rules:
TJLA Sanctioned – Jr. Livestock Shows
Any and all TJLA and TCCA Rules Apply!
- All animals must be in place according to schedule.
- No animals may be removed from the grounds before the date and time specified in NTSF schedule.
- Jr. Heifers exhibitors may stay over for the Open Beef Cattle Show on Monday.
- The official classifier(s) of the Jr. Steer Shows will review any questionable animal pertaining to the class or breed on the day judging begins.
- All owners of property and livestock shall care for, guard, protect and preserve same as the North Texas State Fair & Rodeo does not undertake to do so, and it shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to said property or the owners there of.
- Exhibitors will not be allowed to spend the night on the grounds. Night watchmen will be on duty during these hours.
- Any animal or animals properly entered in any show class as eligible for competition must be brought into the arena for exhibition, unless the reason for their nonappearance in the ring is acceptable to the superintendent in charge. All single breeding cattle and steers for exhibition must be shown with a halter and be sufficiently gentle to properly handled by an attendant.
- No “showing off of the trailer”. All animals will be stalled.
- In show barns: Livestock exhibitors are permitted to display a sign over each exhibit advertising their own herds. All other forms of signs, or advertising must be approved by
the management, and it reserves the right to have objectionable signs removed. No signs
which reflects in any way to any commercial product, may be placed over any champion, or any livestock exhibit.
- Late entries will be taken for any Jr. Shows for a $5.00 Late Fee.
- Exhibitors will park trailers only in designated areas. Towing will be enforced.
- No outside tie outs or trailer tie outs.
- All animals must remain in stalls.
- Exhibitors will enter the North gate and unload on the North end of the livestock barn. There is a 15 minute time limit for unloading. Please do not leave vehicles unattended.
- All waste will be put in the commercial waste containers located at the north end of the livestock barn. Violators will be released and removed from the grounds.
- No rear fans allowed.
- Jr. Steers, Jr. Heifers & Miniature Hereford Steers: Must Show in Ring A to Show in Ring B, and Must Show in Ring C to Show in Ring D.
- Jr. Pigs, Lambs & Goats: Must Show in Ring A to Show in Ring B.
- Jr. Heifers: Classes will be broken by breeds and ages of heifers. One head will make a breed.
- Jr. Steers: Classes will be broken by weight. One head will make a breed.
- All breed champions must compete for Champion and Reserve Champion.
- Blow & Show – no glue, adhesives, paint, etc.
- DISORDERLY CONDUCT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
- All Decisions of the Superintendents will be final. Any abuse (verbal or otherwise) toward division Superintendents, Assistance Superintendents, or Judge, may be cause for the Exhibitor and Family to be removed from the Fairgrounds.
- Any dog/pet on fairgrounds must be on a leash.
- Out of state livestock is welcome, but must provide health certificate.

Selection of Judges:
- Judges will be selected by the North Texas State Fair and Rodeo, and, in every case, the judge will be selected with the utmost care, and highest qualifications.
- The decisions of the judges will be final in all cases, except where mistake, fraud, misrepresentation or collusion, not discovered at the time of the award, is proven. In suck cases the management or such referee as he may appoint, may make a decision, or the case may be referred to the Executive Committee, from whose decision there can be no appeal.
- If any exhibitors, in any way, whether in person or by agent or servants, interferes with the judges during their adjudication, or shows any disrespect to them or the show, the management may demand a proper apology from such exhibitor, or it may exclude him or her from the ring, and may also withhold from such exhibitor to be barred from future participation in the North Texas State Fair.
