Livestock General Rules

LATE ENTRIES ARE ACCEPTED….YOU MAY ENTER THE DAY OF THE SHOW WITH A $5.00 LATE FEE PER EXHIBITOR!

GENERAL RULES

EXHIBITOR RULES:

  1. All animals must be in place according to Livestock Show Schedule.
  2. There are no pre-assigned stalls.  Stall where you can.
  3. Jr. Heifers exhibitors may stay over for the Open Beef Cattle Show on Monday.
  4. The official classifier(s) of the Jr. Steer Shows will review any questionable animals pertaining to the class or breed during weigh-in.
  5. All owners of property and livestock shall care for, guard, protect and preserve same as the North Texas State Fair does not undertake to do so, and if shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to said property or the Owners there of.
  6. Exhibitors will not be allowed to spend the night on the grounds. Night watchmen will be on duty during these hours.
  7. Any animal or animals properly entered in any show class as eligible for competition must be brought into the arena for exhibition, unless the reason for their nonappearance in the ring is acceptable to the
    superintendent in charge.  All single breeding cattle and steers for exhibition must be shown with a halter and be sufficiently gentleto be properly handled by an attendant.
  8. There will be no “showing off the trailer”.  All animals will be stalled.
  9. In show barns:  Livestock exhibitors are permitted to display a sign over each exhibit advertising their own heard.  All other forms of signs, or advertising must be approved by management, and it reserves the right to have objectionable signs removed.  No signs which reflects in any way to any commercials product, may be placed over any champion, or any livestock exhibit.
  10. Exhibitors will park trailers only in designated areas.  Towing will be enforced.  A map to the designated trailer parking will be enclosed in each exhibitors packet, to be picked up in the Livestock Office upon arrival.
  11. Designated Livestock Parking is located at the Northwest corner of the fairgrounds.  There will be shuttle carts to take you to the livestock barn, and back.  If for any reason there is not a cart available, please
    let someone in the livestock office know, and we will radio a cart to come pick you up.  Parking directly North of the livestock barn is reserved parking only, and towing will be strictly enforced.
  12. No outside tie outs or trailer tie outs.
  13. All animals must remain in stalls.
  14. Exhibitors will enter the North gate (Carroll Blvd.)  and unload on the North end of the livestock barn.  There is a 15 minute time limit for unloading.  Please do not leave vehicles unattended.
  15. All waste will be put in the commercial waste containers located at the North end of the livestock barn.  Violators will be released and removed from the grounds.
  16. Jr. Steers, Jr. Heifers, and Miniature Herefords Steers:  Must Show in Rings “A” and “B” to show in Ring “C”.
  17. Jr. Pigs, Jr. Lambs and Jr. Goats:  Must Show in Ring “A” to Show in Ring “B”.
  18. Jr. Steers and Miniature Hereford Steers:  Classes will be broken by weight.  One head will constitute a breed.
  19. All Breed Champions, in all livestock categories, must compete for champion and reserve champion.
  20. Jr. Steers & Jr. Heifers – Blow & Show.  No glue, adhesives, paint, etc.
  21. DISORDERLY CONDUCT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
  22. All decisions of the Superintendent will be final, and abuse (verbal or otherwise) towards division Superintendents, Assistance Super- intendents, or Judges, may be cause for the exhibitors and family to be removed from the Fairgrounds.
  23. Any dog/pet on fairgrounds must be on a leash.
  24. Out of State Livestock are welcome, but must provide health certificate.

SELECTION OF JUDGES:

  1. Judges will be selected by the North Texas Fair and Rodeo, and inevery case, the judge will be selected with the utmost care, and highest qualifications.
  2. The decisions of the judges will be final in all cases, except where mistake, fraud, misrepresentation or collusion, not discovered at the time of award, is proven.  In such cases the management or such referee as he may appoint, may make a decision, or the case may be referred to the Executive Committee, from whose decision there can be no appeal.
  3. If any exhibitors, in any way, whether in person or by agent or servants, interferes with the judges during the adjudication, or shows any disrespect to them or the show, the management may demand a proper apology from such exhibitor, or it may exclude him or her from the ring, and may also withhold from such exhibitor to be barred from future participation in the North Texas State Fair.
