Entries will be accepted at Fair Hall on Monday, August 13th, from 6:00p.m –8:00p.m and on Tuesday, August 14th, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED! We do not accept mailed-in entries; photographs must be entered in person.
$3.00 fee per entry – maximum of four (4) entries per contestant, two (2) entries per class. Contestants with four (4) entries will receive a one-day pass for any day of the fair. Previous year entries will not be accepted and disqualified. If you are entering in the Youth Divisions, it is a maximum of (4) entries per contestant.
Photographs must 5x7”or an 8x10” only.No other sizes will be accepted. Please use the appropriate size mat frame or board for the picture. Photographs must be mounted on heavy mounting board or can be framed with a mat frame only. (please do not use poster board or construction paper to mount your photographs). There should be no designs or cut-outs to your mat board frame except for the cut-out where the picture is to be displayed. The entire entry including photograph/and display board and or mount board should be NO larger than 11x14”. NO FRAMES, NO GLASS! Do not title your pictures, and/or write anything on the front of the board or picture.
Please include name, address, and phone number on the back of each picture. Digital Photos will be accepted as long as they follow the same guidelines listed above, and may not include special effects or special enhancing, if rules are not followed, you WILL be disqualified. We will only accept “true” black and white photographs (not sepia, antique, altered color tones, etc.) We will not accept any photo that has been developed on metallic paper.
Entries will be judged on an individual basis by a panel of judges according to criteria that has been predetermined by the committee. Judging will be on Wednesday evening. (No public viewing) The results will be available by the following Friday. (First opening day of the fair)
Ribbons will be awarded on merit for each photograph that is entered Rosettes will be awarded in each division, for Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion.
A “People’s Choice” Award will also be given on Thursday August 23rd . A plaque will be awarded for the photo, which has accumulated the most votes during the fair.
The North Texas Fair and Rodeo is a family event and all photographs that are entered must be presented in “good taste” and are subject to be disqualified by the photography committee if they do not follow these rules. The purpose of this contest is to promote and encourage amateur photography enthusiasts.
Entries must be picked up between 1:00 pm and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26th. All photo entries that are left after this time will be discarded and will not be mailed back to the contestant. We will not mail back ribbons, rosettes or photo entries. N.T.S.F. WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOST OR DAMAGED PHOTOS. NO EARLY PICK UP, SUNDAY ONLY!!!!!!
