The theme for the 2022 North Texas Fair & Rodeo Beth Marie's and Denton Record Chronicle Youth Art Contest is "COUNTY FAIR", and this should be reflected in your work. We will accept and display non-themed pieces, but they will not be eligible for any grand prize ribbons.
Entries will be accepted online only, via the form found below. There is no cost to enter.
Categories include painting (watercolor, paint, etc.), drawing (crayons, colored pencils, pencil, charcoal pencil, markers, etc.) and collage (magazine cut-outs, photo collages, etc.).
All contestants will receive a ribbon. We will award a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbon for each category in each age division. Grand Overall Winner, Reserve Grand Overall Winner and People's Choice Winner will be awarded a ribbon and a prize.
Rules:
Artist must be between the ages of 5-years-old and 18-years-old, as of August 1, 2022.
Entry must be the work of the contestant and must have been completed after August 1, 2021.
Artwork must be appropriate for family viewing.
Entries should relate to the theme (not mandatory for entry, but mandatory for grand-prize eligibility).
Each contestant is limited to a maximum of 2 entries.
No frames, no sculptures, no 3D artwork, no canvas and no digital/electronic art
Artwork must be submitted electronically by Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 8:00 p.m.
Artwork must be scanned in a high-quality .jpg format and uploaded via the form link. (Email thharrison11@gmail.com if you have issues.)
Artwork will be checked in electronically and displayed on a large high-quality banner along the walls of the North Texas Fair & Rodeo. (If you are unable to upload a quality image of your artwork, please contact Haleigh Harrison at thharrison11@gmail.com for more information on submitting your artwork in person. This would need to be done by Thursday, August 11, 2022.
