2019 Scholarship Program

The North Texas Fair and Rodeo believes in Investing in the Future of Our Youth by offering scholarships to our graduating seniors. Scholarship awards are paid directly to the Junior College or University in two installments, one per semester for the first year of enrollment.

THREE scholarships are available for applicants:

Scholarship recipients will by notified by May 1, 2019

2018 Scholarship Winners

of

North Texas Fair Association Scholarship

The North Texas State Fair Association Scholarship was awarded to the 2018 valedictorian of Krum High School, Abby Wimmer. Abby has been involved in FFA and agriculture leadership activities for the past 9 years. She has additionally been involved in multiple academic and social organizations throughout her high school career. Abby plans on attending Texas A&M University and majoring in biomedical sciences and minoring in Spanish with the intent of opening her own veterinary practice.

Bob C. Powers Scholarship

The Bob C. Powers Scholarship was awarded to the 2018 salutatorian of Krum High School, Sterling Pieniazek. Sterling has been involved in 4-H, FHA and FFA for over 8 years and has traveled all over the state of Texas and nation, competing in livestock shows and agricultural leadership activities. She has excelled inside and outside of the classroom and wants to continue her exemplary academic and leadership success at Texas A&M University while majoring in animal science with a minor in business.

Robert Bell, Trade/Vocational, Scholarship

The Robert Bell, Trade/Vocational, Scholarship was awarded to David Wright from Sanger, Texas. David has been involved in 4-H and FFA for over 6 years and has been a very active leader in his FFA chapter, as well as participating in junior market shows and agriculture leadership events across the state of Texas. David will be attending Weber State University in the fall and majoring in manufacturing engineering technology with a welding emphasis.
